Pre-GED level literacy programs for out-of-school youth.
CEO is working with community based organizations and the
public libraries to develop model literacy programs. The programs target
curriculum and instructional approach to the needs and interests of young
adults, offer a work readiness or internship/job placement component, modest
participant stipends/incentives, and case management services to support
sustained participation.
Eligibility: Out-of-school
youth between 16 and 24 years old with reading levels between fourth and eight
grade level.
Partner Agency: Department
of Youth and Community Development, New York Public Library, Brooklyn Public
Library, and Queens Public Library.
Registration is year round.
