CUNY Prep: CUNY Preparatory Transitional High School

CUNY Prep

CUNY Prep offers young adults the opportunity to complete their GED and enroll in college.

Program Description
CUNY Prep is a model program that offers out-of-school youth between the ages of 16 and 18 with an opportunity for full-time study in order to qualify for admission to college by obtaining a General Equivalency Diploma (GED).  Many students also earn college credit through CUNY’s Hostos Community College.

A part-time evening program also serves older students and working adults.

Eligibility: To be considered for admission, day students must be between 16-18 years old, out of school for two months (or have a long-term absence designation), and have at least an eighth grade reading level.  Evening students must be a minimum of 19 years old and pass a social studies assessment to be eligible for the program.
