Earl Ward, Esq.
Mr. Ward has been in private practice
as a criminal defense attorney and civil rights litigator
since 1996, and as a member of the New York State Capital
Defender Panel, is assigned death penalty cases. From 1992 to 1996,
he served as both a staff attorney and a supervising attorney
for the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem, where he
represented indigent defendants in criminal matters. Mr. Ward
also worked as a staff attorney for the New York Civil Liberties
Union from 1989 to 1992, and previous to that as a staff attorney
for the Legal Aid Society's Criminal Defense Division. He
has been a board member of the Bronx Defenders, a public interest
law organization, since 1998, and a board member of Housing
Works since 2001. Mr. Ward, a city council designee, has been
a board member from New York County since January 1997.
