Jules A.
Martin, Esq.
Mr. Martin is assistant vice-president for Protection Services at
New York University. Before joining NYU, he served as chief of the Housing
Bureau of the New York City Police Department from 1997 to 1998. Mr. Martin
joined the police department in 1969, and held a number of positions prior to
becoming the executive officer of the 113th Precinct in 1989. He was assigned
to the Intelligence Division as head of the Municipal Security Section in 1990.
Mr. Martin is a member of the International Chiefs of Police, the National
Association of Black Law Enforcement Executives, International Association
of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, the New York State Bar Association,
the United States Supreme Court Bar, the Committee on Character and Fitness
of the New York Appellate Division, First Department and was a member of the
1997 White House fellowship panel. He attended the Police Management
Institute at Columbia University in 1991. He served in the U.S. Navy from
1965-69. Mr. Martin, a police commissioner designee, has been a board member since March 1999.
