Internship for Recruitment
AGENCY DESCRIPTION
The New York City Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB) is an independent, police oversight agency.
It is empowered to receive, investigate, mediate, make findings and recommend discipline on complaints
against New York City police officers. The CCRB handles four types of misconduct complaints: excessive force,
abuse of authority, discourtesy and offensive language. The board's investigations are conducted in
an impartial fashion by its all-civilian investigative staff. The CCRB receives approximately 6,500 complaints per year.
POSITION TITLE
Two part-time Fall Internship (2) positions, start date and schedule to be determined.
INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Interns assist the Director of Community Relations with the following:
• Attending local university career fairs for recruitment initiatives.
• Researching local universitities' career centers for background information.
• Entering contact information into an Excel spreadsheet.
Interns will benefit by exposure to recruitment procedures, the opportunity to use computer skills,
enhancement of research skills by investigating universities and the one-on-one attention on career related issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for internships should be high school graduates, enrolled in a college or university, with excellent computer skills.
