How to File a Complaint

The CCRB is an impartial and independent agency; it is not a part of the Police Department.
There are several ways to file a complaint with the CCRB. Please choose the method that is most convenient for you. You can:

CALL the CCRB Hotline 24 hours a day: 1-800-341-CCRB. Or call 311 (outside NYC dial 212-NEW-YORK).

FILE IN PERSON at 40 Rector Street, 2nd Floor, Manhattan, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

By Subway:

2 or 3 to Wall St.

 

4 or 5 to Wall St.

 

J or Z to Broad St.

 

A or C to Fulton St.

WRITE A LETTER to the CCRB at 40 Rector Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10006

VISIT any NYPD precinct to file a complaint, which is then forwarded to the CCRB.
