Fun Facts:
  • Todt Hill in Staten Island measures 410 feet high, making it the highest natural point in all of New York City.
  • Sandy Ground, the oldest continuously-inhabited free Black settlement in the United States, is located in Staten Island.
  • Fresh Kills, which used to be the world's largest landfill, is currently being transformed into a Staten Island park. When completed, Fresh Kills will be the largest park developed in NYC in over 100 years.
