About the Chair

Thomas McCormack was appointed Chair of the Business Integrity Commission in July 2004. Upon the creation of the Business Integrity Commission, Mr. McCormack held the position of Deputy Commissioner for Investigations and Enforcement, supervising criminal investigations and regulatory enforcement. From 1997 through 2002, Mr. McCormack was the Assistant Commissioner of Investigations and Enforcement at the Trade Waste Commission. Prior to the Trade Waste Commission, Mr. McCormack served nineteen years in the New York City Department of Investigation, where he was the Inspector General for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development for seven years. Before becoming Inspector General, Mr. McCormack held a number of other posts in the Department of Investigation conducting a wide range of criminal and administrative investigations.
