Design Awards

Since 1983, the Design Commission has recognized outstanding public projects with its Annual Awards for Excellence in Design. The winning projects, selected from the hundreds of submissions reviewed by the Commission the previous year, exemplify the City’s highest design standards.

The Design Commission is committed to enhancing every New Yorker’s quality of life through innovative and thoughtful design, regardless of the size or location of the project. The annual awards event highlights this mission by celebrating achievement in design excellence, along with a commitment to public service.
