Photo of Paula ScherPaula Scher is a lay member of the Public Design Commission of the City of New York. As a Principal at Pentagram Design, she creates identities, packaging, publications and environments for a broad range of clients. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum and the Library of Congress, and she is a recipient of the Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design, a member of the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame, and a medalist of the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Type Directors Club. Paula has lectured and exhibited all over the world and has taught for more than two decades at the School of Visual Arts. She has authored numerous articles on design-related subjects, and in 2002, Princeton Architectural Press published her monograph, Make It Bigger. Paula holds a BFA from the Tyler School of Art and a Doctor of Fine Arts Honoris Causa from the Corcoran College of Art and Design.
