In early 2008, in coordination with a committee of tribunal leadership, the
Office of the Administrative Justice Coordinator finalized a set of Best
Practices Guidelines for Self-Represented Parties for use by City tribunals.
These guidelines provide tribunals with general recommendations on improving
services for self-represented parties. The Best Practices Guidelines are not
intended to be viewed as a set of requirements that must be met by tribunals;
rather, they are a series of suggested practices that could improve the overall
tribunal experience.
