Housing Resources for Youth

OYD, in conjunction with ACS Housing Support Services (HSS), collaborates with the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) to secure Section 8 vouchers or public housing units for young adults leaving care with a permanency goal of independent living.

Eligible Youths:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must earn less than $21,000 a year.
  • Must be in care, with a permanency goal of 03 (independent living) and an anticipated discharge date within six to eight months, or
  • Must have been discharged from ACS with a goal of 03 (independent living) within the last two years and not reached his or her 24th birthday.
