Goal: OYD provides technical assistance to provider agency programs in designing and delivering effective group training in various areas of independent living skills. These trainings are mandated for all foster care youth from 14-21 years of age, regardless of permanency goal. The trainings are provided through individual or group approaches so that youth can develop skills and competencies for self-sufficiency, and proactive planning for the future.
Group and individual trainings are offered on a variety of topics that address the critical skills needed for young adults to become self-sufficient post their foster care years. Each session is borough based and facilitated by highly skilled professionals on the specific topic. For more information on dates, times, and topics contact your OYD borough liaison.
