Circle of Support: Help is close to home

Circle of Support is an innovative program designed to enhance access and support for foster, kinship and adoptive parents in local communities. As part of a Circle of Support group you will:

  • Meet regularly with other foster and adoptive parents
  • Discuss topics that are important to you and other participants
  • Discover new information and programs
  • Learn about and share resources that can help you in everyday life by providing access to emotional and material support
  • Dinner and child care provided at each meeting

Workshops and Training for Foster/Adoptive Parents

Center for Foster Parent Training (CFPT) at the Hunter College School of Social Work has created a new website with links to foster parent training workshops offered throughout New York City by a wide variety of organizations devoted to helping parents care for their children.  Click below to learn more about workshops and other training opportunties located in neighborhoods all around the City that can help you meet the needs of your children and network with other parents.  www.nrcfcppp.org/foster-parents


Circle of Youth

The Circle of Youth mission is to provide a comfortable environment where young adults and adolescents, ages 12 and up, in foster, adoptive, kinship homes can come together to learn their rights, express their feelings, set a positive example and help each other achieve goals.

The LGBTQQ group meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in Manhattan at the LGBT Center located at 208 W. 13th Street NY,NY from 6:00pm to 8:00pm

The Jamaica , Queens group meets on the 4th Thursday of each month in Queens ant the Gertz Mall Building located at 92-31 Union Hall Street, 3rd Floor from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
