The Queens Borough Office & The Jamaica / Elmhurst Community Partnership Project host its First Annual Community Based Organizational Fair on September 21, 2010

ACS staff listen to Henry Arroyo and George Clarke of H & L Counseling Services about services they provide to families in Queens. The occasion was the first annual Queens-based Organizations Fair coordinated by the Queens Borough Office of the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) Division of Child Protection and the ACS Office of Community Partnerships.

The fair, held at the Gertz Mall, linked ACS child protective and preventive staff to information about community resources available to families in the borough.  Represented were agencies which provide services such as parent training, housing assistance, drug treatment counseling, play therapy for children, therapy for victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence referrals and services and job training.

Among the agencies participating were Daytop Village, Share Family Supports, Inc., Child Center of New York Single Stop Program, Elmcor Youth and Adult Services, Sakhi for South Asian Women, among others.
