EarlyLearn NYC  

In May 2012, ACS announced the recommended awards for EarlyLearn NYC, a major innovation in child care and early education.  EarlyLearn NYC marks the first time in nearly 50 years that the City is changing this system in an effort to bring consistent quality early care and education to New York’s neediest children and working poor families. Our unique, revolutionary early care and education model will merge child care and early education into a single, seamless system, and build on Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s commitment to provide students with the support and tools they need to reach their full potential.  EarlyLearn NYC will serve nearly 45,000 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers beginning in October 2012.

NYC School Readiness Goals

EarlyLearnNYC seeks to elevate the quality of early care and education throughout the City of New York by evidencing the concept of research in daily practice. In partnership with the NYC Department of Education, ACS has crafted the NYC School Readiness Goals for the 2012-2013 School Year. The NYC School Readiness Goals were developed against the backdrop of the Parent and Family Engagement Framework; The Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework; Framework for Programs Serving Infants and Toddlers and Their Families; NYS PreKindergarten Foundation for the Common Core; NYC DOE Quality Review Rubric and results of our analysis of this year’s child outcomes data.
