Recommended Awards

Limited-Secure Placement Recommended Awards
ACS has announced recommended awards to provide Limited-Secure Placement services in connection with Phase II of Close to Home. These providers will offer residential care to young people placed by the Family Court as well as rehabilitative services including mental health, substance abuse, and intellectual/developmental disabilities services.

Preventive Services Awarded Slots by Borough (PDF)

New Contracts Awarded for Family Assessment Program Intervention
The contracts are for agencies to provide a range of short-term, therapeutic diversionary interventions for adolescents and their families who appear at the Family Assessment Program at ACS seeking to file PINS or “Person in Need of Supervision” petitions in Family Court.  The contracts will start in October 2010. Recommended Awards for Parent Advocate Services
ACS has announced recommended awards for Parent Advocate Services.  Parent Advocates will be present at all initial Child Safety Conferences.  The Parent Advocate providers that will be responsible for providing highly knowledgeable and motivated Parent Advocates to support parents by helping them better understand and navigate the child welfare system, as well as empower parents to become more meaningfully engaged in decision-making involving the safety of their children.  This will build on the use of Child Safety Conferences that take place before removals, and the decrease in emergency removals that occur without the Family Court’s review and approval. Click here to see the recommended awards.

Improved Outcomes for Children (IOC)

Improved Outcomes for Children Improved Outcomes for Children, a series of reforms for Foster Care and Preventive Services, was announced by the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) in March 2007. These reforms are intended to improve the results achieved by ACS and the private agencies under contract to ACS which provide Foster Care and Preventive Services.
