Dress Drive for Foster Care Girls a Success

Programs

you think your staff works very hard?" asked Deputy Commissioner Elizabeth
Roberts in a room of Preventive Services agency program directors and
supervisors. "Yes!" they exclaimed as one. To put muscle behind their
conviction, Roberts asked each agency to nominate staff members who are among
the "unsung heroes" in helping families deal with their very difficult

NYPD Liaison to ACS Lieutenant Fanale
Retires
After 23 years in the NYPD, Lieutenant Carolyn Fanale has
retired. Fanale served for the last two and a half years as the first the
NYPD liaison to ACS. In addition to her role as liaison between the two
agencies, Fanale provided instruction to staff on domestic violence. Read

ACS Leadership Academy for
Child Safety Graduates 30 Managers
On March 12, 2009, the third group made up of thirty Child Protective Managers from the ACS Department of Child Protection graduated from the Leadership Academy for Child Safety. The graduation was attended by Commissioner John Mattingly, Deputy Commissioners Jan Flory and Anne Williams-Isom and other senior staff including Assistant Commissioners from each borough. YFE Participants Ring NASDAQ Closing Bell
It was applause all around as participants of the Youth Financial Empowerment (YFE), along with their mentors and officials from New Yorkers for Children (NYFC), Citibank, United Way of New York City, Wells Fargo and the Junior League of America joined Matilda Cuomo, Founder and Chairperson of Mentoring USA for the NASDAQ closing bell ceremony on Friday, January 23 in the middle of Times Square, New York City. This inspiring story is about the collaboration between ACS contract agency provider Children's Village and East Coast Assistance Dog Inc. The program brings together the young people in foster care who are residents at Children's Village and assistance dogs who are trained by the young people to help the disabled.
