Registration Open For Construction Innovation and Safety Conference

Sign up today for DOB's virtual construction innovation and safety industry conference, scheduled for later this month, November 15th through November 19th!

The online conference is free to attend, open to the public, and features a series of educational online seminars for industry professionals, focusing on development, innovation, construction safety and the latest building regulations in New York City.

This educational event offers licensed design professionals the opportunity to learn more about important industry changes such as the new 2022 Construction Codes, building energy efficiency grades, the Major Projects Development Program, DOB's drone study and much more. The seminars have been submitted for AIA CES approval for continuing education credits.

Members of the construction community are also invited to attend daily multilingual virtual safety sessions, where DOB experts will demonstrate critical safety procedures and answer questions about staying safe on the job.

During the conference, we will also announce the winners of the 2021 "Hack the Building Code" Innovation Challenge. Drop by to see the cutting-edge projects and ideas that are helping to shape and enhance the future of New York's development community.

Property Owner's Guide to Resolving an OATH Summons

On Friday, November 12th, we are hosting for a live DOB webinar event for New York City property owners, providing a deep dive into how to resolve specific OATH summonses issued by DOB, including work without a permit issues and illegal conversions.

This educational webinar, presented by DOB staff, will provide detailed information about certifying the correction of these kinds of violations.

Deadline Extended For Innovation Challenge

Calling all inventors, you still have time! DOB is extending the submissions deadline for our second-annual "Hack the Building Code" Innovation Challenge until Sunday, November 7th, at midnight. Send in your best ideas on how to improve our city's built environment and construction industry.

This contest is a partnership between DOB, the NYC Economic Development Corporation and Urban Tech Hub @ Company Ventures. Winners of this innovation challenge will receive DOB technical support and assistance in introducing their technology to NYC's design and construction industries.
