Earthwork Notifications
Notification is required 24-48 hours in advance of the start of earthwork and needs to include the 811 (Call Before You Dig). Visit the DOB Excavation page for more information.

NEW Buildings Bulletin: Sidewalk Sheds Near Green Infrastructure

We've issued a new Buildings Bulletin to provide guidance to owners, contractors, and design professionals on the proper installation of sidewalk sheds near green infrastructure.

Green infrastructure collects and manages rainwater or stormwater that falls on our city's streets and sidewalks.

Read our Buildings Bulletin and Bulletin Highlight to find out more about green infrastructure and how to account for it when designing and placing a sidewalk shed to avoid causing damage to it.

For additional questions on these requirements, contact us at constructioncodes@buildings.nyc.gov.
