DOB NOW: Build: TPA Filings Resume + New BIS Schedule of Occupancy & Certificate of Occupancy Features

Temporary Place of Assembly Filings Resume
Effective today, May 17th, DOB will resume accepting submissions of Temporary Place of Assembly (TPA) filings in DOB NOW: Build. Please read our Service Notice.

New TPA Certificates of Operation will be issued on the condition that the occupancy of the event conforms to all current and applicable New York State: NY Forward Guidelines, including, but not limited to, occupancy limits and social distancing requirements.

Please keep in mind that issuance of a TPA by DOB is not an approval of the event, and responsibility for compliance with the guidelines is up to the applicant/organizer.

Visit the DOB NOW: Build Temporary Place of Assembly Resources page for a step-by-step guide and FAQs.

BIS Schedule of Occupancy and Certificate of Occupancy
Also effective today, DOB NOW: Build will be updated with a Correction feature for BIS Schedule of Occupancy requests and expanded capability for entering job reference numbers. Certificate of Occupancy requests will be fee exempt when applicable.

See our Service Notice for detailed information regarding these changes.

Check out the DOB NOW training page to sign up for a Q&A session held Tuesdays from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and to view FAQs and other training resources.
