Alternate Side Parking Information and Assistance
The City posts signs that tell drivers when parking is not allowed because
the street will be cleaned. These parking regulations are commonly referred to
as "alternate side parking." The signs usually include the letter "P" with a
broom through it. The City suspends alternate side parking regulations on 34
legal and religious holidays. Regulations also may be suspended for severe
weather or other reasons.
The 2010 Alternate Side Parking Calendar is available in English, Spanish,
Chinese, Haitian Creole, Italian, Korean, or Russian. You can download a copy of
the calendar or you can import the dates into your calendar
application.
You can send a request to the City for a new street cleaning sign or cleaning
rules for a new street. You may also ask to change existing rules for a street
by sending a letter to:
