The City's Health Academy provides training and certification courses for restaurant owners, mobile food vendors, soup kitchen workers, pool operators, pet facility operators, and tattoo artists. Courses are open to all members of the public. The City provides information about classes, course fees, and certification.
The food protection course for restaurant owners and operators is also available online. The online course is free and is now offered in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Owners and operators can take either the classroom or the online food safety course to satisfy the Health Code requirement that supervisors of food service establishments be certified as having completed a course in food protection.
