Through the Healthy Homes project, the City provides information, community seminars, and educational materials about preventing and reducing exposure to the following home health hazards:
- Lead paint chips and dust
- Allergens such as mold and roaches
- Household poisons including medicines, cleaners, and pesticides
- Carbon monoxide
- Fire hazards such as cigarette smoking and non-working smoke detectors
Presentations, training, and workshops for schools, hospitals, WIC agencies, faith-based groups, social services agencies, day cares, Head Start programs, and community-based organizations may be scheduled.
