Lead Poisoning Prevention Information

The City provides information about preventing lead poisoning. Lead poisoning can be caused by lead paint, some traditional remedies, and some imported products.

Through the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, the City provides assistance to pregnant women, teens, and children, including referrals for blood lead tests, presentations, training, and workshops, and services for lead-poisoned pregnant women.

What Construction Workers Should Know About Lead Poisoning includes lead poisoning prevention guidelines for construction workers who may be around lead-contaminated materials or work areas. It also includes information about what employers must do to protect their workers from lead poisoning.
