A brownfield is a vacant or under-used property where known or possible pollution makes redevelopment complicated. The Mayor's Office of Environmental Remediation assists developers, non-profits, consultants, attorneys, and City agencies with the City's local brownfield cleanup program, community involvement, state and federal agency interactions, investigation, remediation, end-use planning, grants, E-designations and brownfield education.
