Air Pollution Equipment and Device Information

The City is studying air pollutants that may contribute to neighborhood health problems. As part of the study, the City has installed air sampling devices 10 to 12 feet off the gound on streetlight, signal and utility poles. The devices are 2 ft by 1 ft boxes with tubes sticking out and a sticker identifying them as property of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

You can get more information about this program or report a damaged or vandalized air sampling device.

Requests for air testing are not accepted.

Call 311 to report a damaged air pollution monitoring device.
