Property Record Information

The official public records for New York City Real and Personal Property transfers, interest and ownership for Bronx County, Queens County, New York County (Manhattan) and Kings County (Brooklyn) are maintained by the Offices of the City Register in the Department of Finance’s Division of Land Records. The Richmond County Clerk maintains property records for Staten Island. These records are open for inspection.

Staten Island property records must be recorded and corrected at the office of the Richmond County Clerk. Property records for the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens can be recorded and corrected through the City's Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), at ACRIS terminals at City Register Offices, or at the Manhattan City Register Office.

For copies of records, such as a deed, for properties in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens, you can make a request online through ACRIS (for records dated from 1966 to the present) or at a City Register Office. For properties in Staten Island, copies are available through the Richmond County Clerk's Office.
