Housing Options for Seniors

The City provides information on the following housing for seniors.

For frail and disabled seniors 60 and older, information about:

  • Housing that provides personal care or health care services to residents. These services may include housekeeping, bathing and dressing assistance, group meals, supervision, activities, and on-site medical and nursing care.
  • Nursing homes, adult homes, assisted living, and enriched housing.

For low-income seniors 62 and older, information about:

  • Affordable housing for seniors.
The New York Foundation's Home Sharing Program provides roommate matching assistance for older adults and people who want to provide housing to seniors. This service links adults with extra room in their homes or apartments with guests to share the space. At least one member of the matched pair must be age 60 or older.
