Homeless Person Complaint

You can report a homeless person who is creating a hazard. This is considered an emergency situation and includes homeless people who are:

  • Ill
  • Outside during a cold weather emergency
  • Blocking a sidewalk or ATM
  • Outstretched or sleeping in a subway, on the tracks, or in another Transit District area
  • Creating a danger to themselves or others

You can also report a homeless person who repeatedly occupies the same location or establishes an encampment. Officers from your local police precinct will respond when they are not handling emergency situations.

Call 311 to report a homeless person establishing an encampment.
