PLANYC addresses challenges that the city will face in the future, including increase in population, an aging infrastructure, and a more precarious natural environment. PLANYC describes over 100 initiatives, including improvements to mass transit, more reliable and cleaner energy, additional opportunities for affordable housing, cleaner air, more parks and green public spaces, and cleaner and reliable water supply.
