Parole Information or Violation

New York State Parole supervises individuals released from New York State Prison from the time they are released until they finish their sentence.

Parole officers develop a supervision plan and evaluate community adjustment. They will step in if the parolee's behavior threatens themselves or the community. The parole officer works with a supervisor to determine when to take delinquency action. The parole officer works to ensure that people released from prison by order of the Board of Parole and by statute live freely in the community without breaking the law.
