Health Worker Home Visit for New Mothers

Through the Newborn Home Visiting Program (NHVP), the City provides assistance to new mothers living in certain areas of Bronx, Harlem, or Brooklyn.

A health worker makes a one-time home visit to a new mother who has recently given birth. The health worker helps the mother with creating a safe home, breastfeeding, and accessing social services.

The program also helps to identify families eligible to receive a free crib.
