Alternate Side Parking (street cleaning) regulations are suspended citywide Thursday, July 4, for Independence Day. Independence Day is a major legal holiday. On major legal holidays, meters are suspended and stopping, standing, and parking, is permitted, except in areas where these rules are in effect seven days a week. On Monday, June 24, 2013, new street cleaning regulations, that were temporarily suspended in parts of Manhattan Community Board 12 (Washington Heights and Inwood neighborhoods), will take effect.
