Safe Horizon provides information, counseling, and other assistance to crime victims. Their hotline has more than 150 languages available.
Safe Horizon also helps clients with receiving restitution from probationers and making claims for compensation with the New York State Crime Victims Board.
Safe Horizon's Project Safe provides lock replacement services to crime victims. Project Safe changes, replaces, or installs top locks free of charge within 24 to 48 hours. The bottom lock is the property and responsibility of the landlord and will not be serviced by Project Safe's locksmiths. You must get damaged doors and doorframes repaired before scheduling an appointment with a locksmith.
Counseling and crime prevention education is also provided to seniors ages 60 and older by the City and a network of community-based agencies.
