New York State Education Licensed Professional or Business Information or Complaint

New York State agencies issue professional licenses for most professions that require a license. The New York State Department of Labor maintains a comprehensive list of occupations requiring licensure.

Your local Workforce1 Center can help you learn more about entrance requirements, local job prospects, and other resources for your new profession.

New York State also licenses or certifies some types of businesses to get permits and licenses before they can operate a business.

If you have an unresolved issue with a products or services provided by a NYS licensed professional or business and you do not have legal action pending against the licensee, you can make a complaint to New York State's Division of Consumer Protection.
