Laundry License

The City licenses laundries.

A business must have a Laundry License to wash, dry, starch, or iron clothes or other fabric for the public. A Laundry License is also required to offer the public self-service washing by automatic or coin-operated machines.

A business must have a Laundry Jobber License to provide laundry service as an independent contractor or as a private laundry maintained in connection with a hotel, restaurant, or public institution for tenants, customers, or inmates.

Hospitals, charitable organizations, and businesses that have a Laundry License do not need to have a Laundry Jobber License to provide free laundry service.
