Tow Truck Complaint

The City accepts complaints against tow truck drivers and businesses that provide towing services. This includes companies operating without a valid license. Valid licenses are yellow with green lettering.

Any New York City-based towing company towing a car within the five boroughs of New York City must be licensed. Tow trucks based elsewhere that are picking up passenger vehicles within New York City must also be licensed.
