Before making a complaint about mold in a residential building, you should attempt to resolve the issue with your landlord, managing agent, or superintendent directly. Rental and cooperative building owners are required by law to maintain apartments in livable condition and provide necessary repairs.

The City accepts complaints about mold and mildew in commercial locations and other places that are open to the public. The City also accepts complaints about work locations where employees are exposed to mold or mildew while working.
