How do I apply for Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK)?

UPK programs are available at some public schools and many community-based organizations (CBOs). To go to UPK for the 2012-2013 school year, children must turn four in 2012 and live in New York City. The deadline to enroll is October 31, 2012.

A list of schools that may have available seats for the current school year is here. Availability may change, so contact the school or CBO directly to check.

Public School UPK Programs
The public school UPK application period is closed. You can still contact schools to ask to be put on a waitlist.

CBO UPK Programs

You can apply at CBO programs any time. CBOs manage their own application process. A list of CBO programs is here. Information about how to select a CBO program is here, and the application is here.
