How do I get speech therapy for my child?

Children Under Age 3

The Early Intervention Program provides speech therapy to children who are under the age of 3, live in one of the five boroughs, and have a disability or developmental delay. Initial evaluation is free for all. For more information, call the Department of Mental Health and Hygiene's Bureau of Early Intervention in your borough:

Children Over Age 3

Children over 3 can request an evaluation for speech therapy through the Department of Education. For more information, call the Special Education Hotline at (718) 935-2824.
