Notify NYC is the City of New York’s official source for information about emergency events and important City services. What you need to know, when you need to know it.

Registration is now available citywide and includes a variety of new features to help you customize your experience. Notify NYC services are available by email, text messaging, and auto-dialing to your home, office, and cell phones.

No matter where you live, you can register for Notify NYC. Messages from Notify NYC will focus on the address(es) you provide when you register.

Participants in the citywide program will be automatically registered to receive Emergency Alerts, which are reserved for priority use during life-threatening situations (e.g., AMBER Alerts, natural disasters). You will also be invited to register for additional Notify NYC services in your area:

• Significant Events Notifications – important information about emergency events, utility outages and other types of high-impact events in your zip code
• Public Health Notifications – information about important public health issues in your community
• Public School Closing/Delay Advisories – updates about unscheduled public school closings, delays and early dismissals
• Unscheduled Parking Rules Suspensions – updates about unscheduled suspensions of citywide parking rules
